Baltimore Main Streets Initiative
Vitamin partnered with the Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) and Baltimore Main Streets to help brand the neighborhood “Main Streets” across the city. These banners serve to mark the beginning and end of all Main Streets in Belair-Edison, Brooklyn, East Monument, Fell’s Point, Hamilton-Lauraville, Highlandtown, Pennsylvania Avenue, Pigtown and Waverly.
Since Vitamin is located in the heart of Highlandtown’s Main Street (Eastern Avenue), this was an exciting opportunity to help beautify the neighborhood we live, work, and shop in. More importantly, this banner program was also a chance for Vitamin to help the city extend beyond the typical “work, live, play” message that almost every city banner program shares. Our main goal in the design and message of the banners was to help foster a sense of community pride while creating awareness for the Main Street itself. The slogan, “Main Street – Where Baltimore Happens” allows the viewer to understand the relevance of their current location. It also allows those that live on and near the Main Street to take stock in their neighborhood by creating a sense of ownership and pride.
