Facebook is Now Sending Weekly Reports
Facebook is now making weekly reports available to all individuals who administer fan pages. The social networking site sent out the first series of reports last night, although the new feature hasn’t been formally announced by Facebook …. at least not in their press room. The reports we received were documented in one comprehensive email with a basic level of detail. Here’s an example of what they look like:

Here is this week’s summary for the Facebook Page: ABC Company
+20 Fans this week (450 total Fans)
4 Wall Posts, Comments, and Likes this week (3 last week)
674 Visits to your page this week (625 Visits last week)
Update your Fans: (a link was provided to the Fan page)
Visit your Insights Page: (a link was provided to the Insights page)
Get more Fans with Facebook Ads: (a link was provided to the “Advertise on Facebook” page)

What I found interesting is that the data isn’t entirely accurate. For example, the report for one of our clients indicates that zero wall posts were made last week, when in fact three posts were made to their wall. When I realized the error, it left me wondering: Is the primary purpose of this new reporting feature to provide accurate data or to sell more advertising (notice the last line of the report). Thoughts?
